Lowry Park Zoo – Creatures Of The Night

Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo – Creatures Of The Night is a brand new experience for the season. This is a fun and non-frightening celebration of Halloween.  Fridays and Saturdays, Oct 7 through the 29th. It’s included with an all-day admission ticket or pay $19.95 after 4pm.

Lowry Park Zoo – Creatures Of The Night

Lowry Park Zoo - Creatures Of The Night

You will love this and so will your kids. You can visit scare zones, or encounter animals, or maybe dance the night away at a ghoulish party. Lowry Park says no horror or gore, just startles and scares.

Asia, Africa, and Primate worlds are now illuminated for night viewing. You’ll see animals lurking till 10pm., or shudder at the creepy, crawlies at the eerie canal. You can stop by Wolf Haven Village to scout for passing werewolves; or the Slither Swamp to check out the reptiles (don’t hang around too long); and for the littlest ones in the family, there’s a fall harvest with friendly farm animals.

Dining at the Zoo includes seasonal items like pumpkin parfaits. Or older adventurers can visit the new beer garden.

Lowry Park Zoo – Creatures Of The Night has some rules.

***In particular, these items are prohibited: toy weapons, face masks, face paint, wigs, or costumes for anyone 12 or over.

I’m sure you know where the Lowry Park Zoo is but just in case, here’s a map.

Finally, This event is brought to you as a courtesy by Toni Weidman and the Weidman Team using information found online. Please contact the Zoo (website is above) for further information or questions. And have a great time when you go.

What To Do In Tampa FL

What To Do In Tampa FL

What To Do In Tampa FLWhat To Do In Tampa FL when it’s raining.  Take a look at a past blue sky day. We are so used to our blue sky that we kind of take it for granted so when a gray day comes along there is always lots of moaning and groaning; especially on a weekend.

The sky is usually gloriously blue and it’s that way most of the time in Florida so don’t let today’s gray sky scare you. And there are lots of things to do inside.

What To Do In Tampa FL

We were at the University of Tampa when I took these pictures; it’s such a beautiful place to wander around in. I love to go there in December for the Christmas Stroll. Come on down to see Tampa and be sure to stop at some of the beautiful places.

The Tampa Bay History Center is at 801 Old Water  St., (813)228-0097. The Columbia Cafe is in the lobby.  Adults are $12.95; Seniors $10.95; Students $10.95, Children 4-12 $7.95; 3 and under Free. Open daily 10 am to 5 pm. The intersection of Old Water St. and Channelside Dr. will be closed for construction Aug. 10 – Sept. 30, 2015. Please allow extra travel time for your visit.

Tampa Firefighters Museum at 720 Zack Street. The building served as headquarters for the Tampa Fire Dept. until 1974 when the operation was moved across the street. The building presided over the 63 year transformation from horse-drawn apparatus to diesel-powered rescue and firefighting vehicles. A group of citizens began a 10 year project to raise the funds for the restoration of the building in order to preserve the history of the firefighters of Tampa, FL.

Founded by cigar manufacturers in the 1880’s, Ybor City is located northeast of downtown Tampa.  It was populated by immigrants from Spain, Cuba, and Italy and is one of Tampa’s historic neighborhoods and is a National Historic Landmark district. Here’s a link to the Ybor City Chamber of Commerce.

Lots to do in Tampa; we’ll cover more next time.

In the meantime, I live on the west coast of Florida; just west of Tampa. If you’re thinking of moving here; give me a call. To search homes in the area of Trinity, New Port Richey, and Tarpon Springs, click here.

Love Of Classic Cars

Love Of Classic Cars, hmmm,  did you ever think about the fact that being a classic car lover is a very difficult job. Every car show I go to, I fall in love with a different car.

At a recent car show at The Shops At Wiregrass in Wesley Chapel, I came across this beauty. It is very elegant and just looks like you should be wearing  your crown when you ride in it.

Love Of Classic Cars

Love Of Classic Cars

This is a Packard (I think it was a 1933). I poked my head inside the open driver’s side window and almost had a heart attack. There was an older gentlemen in the back seat taking a rest from the heat and the crowd.  He and I chatted for a few minutes but I didn’t ask any questions because he looked like he wanted to go back to sleep.

Okay, I admit it, I’m in love. Not with the old gentleman but with this graceful beauty. I want one.  I can just see me with my flowered hat (or crown) and white gloves doing the Queen’s wave as I pass the crowds. Please don’t wake me up.
